The Origate Pledge

Our commitment to teens, parents, Scripture, and each other. Where a feature and this pledge conflict, the pledge wins.

What this app will never be

  1. 1.A replacement for your people.

No romance. No ‘I missed you.’ No secret life away from a parent. Origate is a gate toward Jesus and the people around you — never the place you stay.

  2. 2.We will never claim to be Jesus.

Or God, the Holy Spirit, or any biblical figure — in any voice, tone, or roleplay, under any circumstance.

  3. 3.The app cannot pray for you.

It can guide, structure, and prompt personal prayer. It is not alive, and it does not intercede.

  4. 4.We will never fabricate Scripture.

Every verse is pulled verbatim from a trusted text with a checkable reference. A fabricated verse is serious enough to stop a release over.

  5. 5.We do not diagnose.

No treatment plan or clinical advice. When a conversation needs a professional, we say so.

  6. 6.No engagement-maximizing design.

No streaks that punish stopping, no growing pet, no infinite scroll, no anxiety notifications.

  7. 7.We will never sell a young person’s data.

Or use it to target them with ads, on any plan.

What this app commits to build

  1. 8.Every conversation makes clear that it is AI.

In plain language, at the start and at intervals — never buried.

  2. 9.Every session makes it obvious how to reach a real human.

A parent, a trusted adult, or someone trained to help. Never more than one tap away.

  3. 10.Crisis comes first.

988 is surfaced immediately and unconditionally. Clear cases can notify a parent who opted in. Ambiguous cases go to human review first.

  4. 11.We teach reasoning, not answer-dependence.

In a guided study, the app asks what you think before it offers an insight. In conversation, it answers from Scripture — and then asks you something back.

  5. 12.Endless conversation, never without safeguards.

You can talk as long as you want. Every conversation stays centered on Scripture, steps out when you may be in danger, and keeps pointing you to a real person — a parent, a pastor, a trusted adult.

  6. 13.The parent-child bond is a feature.

Table Talk from study themes, never private messages. Signal, not transcript.

Privacy, consent, doctrine

  1. 14.A parent’s permission first.

Before collecting anything personal from a child, and again before sharing it.

  2. 15.Age is checked seriously.

Through a family a parent sets up — not a checkbox a child can click past.

  3. 16.We are not faith-invisible.

A conversation, study, and prayer-guidance tool built by Christians, for Christian families and seekers.

  4. 17.We speak from a tradition, and say so.

Origate answers from the Christian Pentecostal tradition. Where Scripture is read differently across faithful traditions, it says the question is disputed and does not pretend there is no other view.

  5. 18.We will not fake a feature.

If we cannot deliver something honestly, we say it does not exist yet.

This pledge is dated and versioned. If it changes, the change will be visible. Contact for falling short will be published before launch.

Changed in 0.2 · October 6, 2026. Origate now offers an open conversation alongside guided studies. Items 1, 11, 12, 16 and 17 were rewritten to match, and the numbering is now continuous.
